Ways To Stay Fit When You Can’t Workout - MySupplements.ca INC.

One of the worst feelings possible is being injured. Injuries can vary from a multitude of levels and can sometimes leave us unable to workout. You may find yourself feeling like you are slipping away from your consistent exercise routine and looking for other ways to keep your body in shape. In today's blog we’re going to be taking a look at ways to stay fit when you can't workout. Being injured isn’t the only reason as to why one may not be able to workout. Medical conditions and lack of access to a gym are two of the many other reasons as to why one may find themselves unable to workout. This article will be applicable to virtually any situation.

#1 Go for a walk (if possible run/jog)
This one may sound obvious, but taking a walk or going for a run/jog is one of the easiest ways to maintain a cardio routine. On top of this simply going on a walk provides a variety of other benefits. Bringing up your energy while also being relaxing, burning calories & increasing your muscular endurance! There’s plenty of benefits to walking that you may not have even realized. It's easy, it’s free and you can start it right away!

#2 Do yoga at home
In this day and age, it has never been easier to pull up any level fitness routine on youtube and get right to it! The same applies for yoga! Yoga can also be very beneficial to not only your body, but also your mind when you find yourself unable to properly exercise. When we do Yoga, we are benefiting many parts of our body. Flexibility, tension, breathing and circulation are all some to name a few. On top of this, yoga when done properly can actually prevent injury! Yoga improves the strength of our bones and muscles.

#3 Watch your diet
It's easy to slip out of a proper diet when you find yourself unable to workout. However, this is probably one of the most important elements of staying fit when you're unable to exercise. This can be done in a variety of ways that can cater to your specific needs. One of the most prevalent ways is watching your calorie intake. Cutting out extra calorie heavy foods/snacks and watching what you eat are both two ways to do this, but it should never come at the expense of your health, mentally or physically. Portion control is another easy way to maintain a proper diet, as overeating has its consequences too. With a variety of apps available now too, it has never been easier to keep total track and control of your diet.

#4 Get proper sleep intake!
You may be wondering what exactly the act of doing literally nothing has to do with staying fit. Well, sleep actually plays quite the pivotal role in our body's fitness routines. Sleep goes hand in hand with recovery. When we get proper amounts of sleep, we allow our body's muscle tissue to heal naturally and quickly. Sleep is also super important when it comes to fat metabolism. When you don't get enough sleep, your fat cells don't function properly. And simply put, lack of sleep leaves you unmotivated and tired! How are you supposed to get anything done in a state like that?

#5 Focus on your mental health
Before anything physical, mental health is more important than anything. If you let this slip, then anything mentioned in this article should not even be of concern. Mental health and fitness go hand in hand (which you can read more about in our blog post here). Remember that if you are unable to workout, it is not the end of the world. Utilize the time you have away from the gym or working out to focus on yourself, and well being. There’s a reason you’re not lifting or running right now and it's not for nothing.
